If you have an approved WorkCover claim with a WorkCover reference number, you may be referred to a Psychologist for psychological care related to your workplace injury. WorkCover will assess your claim and determine the number of sessions you can attend. If your claim is successful, WorkCover will pay for the cost of your sessions with the approved Psychologist. It is important to note that WorkCover will only pay for approved sessions, so it is crucial to ensure approval before booking an appointment with Making Change Psychology.

A referral with a Mental Health Care Plan entitles you to a Medicare rebate for up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year. This plan is completed by your general practitioner and allows you to have an initial six individual sessions for psychological treatment with Medicare rebates. Following this, a review with your general practitioner is required to determine if you’re eligible to receive the Mental Health Care Plan and Medicare rebate for another four sessions (i.e. total of 10 sessions per calendar year).

Full payment of the standard session fee is required at the end of each session. Upon payment, a receipt will be issued, and the Medicare rebate will be processed through my booking system.

What are the session fees?

A standard 50-minute appointment costs $200.

Medicare Rebates: As of July 1st 2023, under a valid Mental Health Care Plan issued by your general practitioner, a Medicare rebate of $92.90 is available. Therefore, the out-of-pocket expense to a client for a session is $107.10.

Private Psychology Sessions.

Clients can access services without a Mental Health Care Plan or through an external provider if eligible. Clients may wish to continue accessing services after using all their sessions from the Mental Health Care Plan or to avoid using the external provider.

What are the session fees?

A standard 50-minute appointment costs $200.

Cancellation Policy.

Your time and my time are valuable. I hold a firm cancellation policy, allowing respect and fairness to all clients. By allocating enough notice for your non-attendance, other clients can access services sooner.

If you need to cancel your appointment, please do so within 24 hours (business days) or preferably more notice. A session can be cancelled by responding to the reminder text message, emailing admin@makingchangepsychology.com.au, or calling 0477 433 626.

What is the cancellation fee?

External Provider: For clients accessing services through an external provider, the cancellation fee will be charged to the external provider. Some external providers have strict cancellation policies. For example, some external providers request that the psychologist cease services for clients who cancel or no-show more than two sessions during the allocated care period (e.g., six sessions).

Medicate-Rebated or Private Sessions: A cancellation fee of 50% of the total session cost will apply if less than 24 hours notice is provided. Please note, that Medicare rebates cannot be used for appointments that were not attended. Payment for non-attendance is required before booking or attending the next appointment.
